Spend the Night Party at Grandma Treesy's

Evan is having his first spend the night party at Grandma Treesy's tonight. Mama and Daddy are visiting friends in Brunswick. He got a bath in the kitchen sink and grandma and the rest of the kitchen got a bath too! He had a ball splashing water all over the place! He also liked gnawing on the wash cloth for some reason. Grandma gave him one of the snowmen cups to play with while he was getting his bath. He dipped the cup in the water then put it to his mouth like he does everything else. He didn't realize he had a cupful of water so when he turned it up he poured water all in his face. He looked rather shocked when all that water poured over his face but he didn't cry. After his bath Grandma read a book to him for a while. After that it wasn't long before he was out for the night. The sweet little man is now sound asleep after wearing himself (and grandma and grandpa) out playing tonight.

Evan's First Christmas

I think Evan truly enjoyed his first Christmas. He got the hang of ripping off the paper pretty fast. He preferred to eat the paper but did spend some time carefully inspecting each of his gifts. He looked at them, felt of them and even tasted them!. I think his favorite gifts were the books. They must have tasted the best. His Aunt Courtney have him the huge dragon that he is wrapped in and also a cute finger puppet book. His mama and daddy gave him the duckie bathtub. He got his first bath in it last night. You can tell from the picture that he loved it!

Evan meets all the "Lords".

Evan went to his first 'Lord' Christmas Party today. He met all his great-great Aunts and Uncles and millions of cousins. He finally got to meet his Great Aunt KK who has been dying to meet him since he was born. She even got to jiggle him to sleep! Of course everyone loved our sweet boy and his beautiful eyes!
Great Pa and Evan were quite the pair with their hats. Don't know who had the cutest hat! Great Pa's face just lit up when he looked at Evan. It was great to see him with a smile on his face. Evan just makes everyone smile!

Little Rain Man

Evan spent the day with us yesterday while his mom and dad did some work in preparation for Christmas. It was such a warm day we had the windows and the door open. When it started to rain we sat Evan by the back door so he could see the rain. He probably sat there 30 minutes watching it rain. He reminded me of his Great-grandaddy Johnston and the way he used to love to watch it rain. He often went out under the carport and sat on the tailgate of his truck whenever it rained. Billy now does much the same when it rains. Looks like Evan is going to carry on that Johnston tradition of watching it rain.

Evan's Half Birthday Party

Jacob and Kim had a half birthday party for Evan today since it was his 6 month birthday. They had 1/2 pizzas, 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla ice cream and a 1/2 cake. He had a 1/2 hat and a 1/2 birthday balloon and a birthday boy ribbon. He didn't particularly like his 1/2 hat but he loved his 1/2 birthday balloon and the 1/2 candle on his 1/2 cupcake. Kim also made 1/2 cupcakes and sent to all the folks at his daycare today. His babysitter said he ate almost 1/2 of his 1/2 cupcake!

GSU game

Jacob, Kim, Billy, Evan and I all went to Statesboro to Georgia Southern University last weekend. Billy and Jacob went to the GSU game while Kim, Evan and I toured around the campus and then did a little shopping at the mall. Evan wore the little outfit that Courtney brought him from Colorado. He looked like such a big boy in that outfit!

Here we are before we left for statesboro. Evan loved Billy making noises and jiggling his arm. He would hold his arm out for more. He also had a good time getting handfuls of my hair and pulling!!!

After the game we went to R & J Steak and Seafood to eat supper. Evan enjoyed being a big boy and sitting in his new buggy bag in the high chair at the table with us. He wanted to grab everything on the table. He especially liked the bill and Jacob's egg custard pie.

Chicken Man Evan

Evan was a big chicken today. The babysitter had all the children come in their Halloween costumes today and took them to Burger King a for Halloween party. As you can see Evan was a big chicken. (Wonder why he chose to dress up as a chicken?!)

The little girl in this picture with Evan is Addie. She's dressed up as a Jeff Davis Yellow Jacket. (Her parents are the cheerleader coach and a football coach.) Aren't they a cute pair!?

Here's Evan in another of his Halloween outfits. He's a cutie pie no matter what he wears!

Evan in the Pirate Hat Movie

We were trying to capture Evan's new squeal he does. He had just been "talking" up a storm until I turned on the camera. Of course, he didn't make a sound then.

Camping and Pirate Fest on Tybee

Evan went off on his first camping trip this weekend with his mom and dad up to John's mountain. Grandma and Grandpa Johnston also went off on a camping trip to Tybee Island, GA. We all had a ball. Evan came home with a huge mosquito bite in the middle of his forhead. It made him look like an Indian with his cast symbol on his forhead.

Pirate Fest was this weekend at Tybee so Billy and I had to get Evan some pirate clothing. We got him a pirate dew rag and a pirate onezie(sp?) In the picture above Jacob has Evan doing an impersonation of a motorcycle dude!

Little Einstein

Nana, one of Evan's babysitters, has nicknamed Evan "Little Einstein". She said they had put him in this little activity center that is really for the older babies ( around 7-8 months). They stuff pillows around him so he can sit in it. It has little toys all around it that the babies can play with. Nana says that Evan knows how to work all of them. There is one that you roll and it makes a light come on. She says she knows he understands how to work them because he didn't just work them once. He does them over and over. Nana was at the ballgame last night and after the game she had to come tell us all about her Little Einstein and steal some of his sugar. You can tell she really loves Evan. I think he is her favorite!

Evan is a roller!

Just got to see Evan roll over from his tummy to his back!! Billy stopped at Jacob and Kim's to let them know that a man was picking up the tractor to fix it and Jacob came out to get him so he could see Evan's new accomplishment. Billy was kind enough to call me to come too. I dropped everything and ran over! We had to wait awhile to get to see Evan roll over because he kept watching the TV. (Kin to his Grandpa Johnston!) But he finally did.
It is just amazing how fast he is changing now. Last weekend he would grasp things you actually put in his hands but he didn't really reach for them. Tonight he was reaching for the toy and reaching out to turn the little tumbler filled with rattlely things on the toy. Of course, once he g0t his slimmy little hands on the toy it went straight to his mouth!
Sorry but no pics!

Pink Pig

When I got home from Dublin yesterday afternoon I had a happy surprise. Jacob and Evan were at my house. Jacob came over to watch the Falcon's game with Billy and give Kim a chance to rest and get a few chores done. Jacob was feeding Evan his green beans. Evan kept stealing the spoon from him. Guess it won't be long before he thinks he can feed himself. We think he is a messy eater now. Just wait til he really operates the spo0n himself! I got the job of cleaning up the messy baby after he ate his green beans then I gave him his bottle a little later and cuddled with him while he took a catnap. Billy got the fun job of playing with him and the pink pig. The pig sings "I've got Sunshine on a Cloudy day" and moves his mouth and rocks his head and body back and forth. Evan thought the pig was really funny. He liked grabbing the pigs mouth while it was singing.

Evan Eating Green Beans

Here' s our little man eatin green beans. His daddy does a pretty good job getting the green beans in Evan's mouth even though Jacob is really watching a football game.

Friday night in Snipesville at Buddy's Restaurant

Tonight Jacob, Kim, Evan, Billy and I went to our favorite restaurant in Snipeville for supper. On the way there, Evan was playing with his toy elephant. This is the first time I have really seen him manipulate a toy. Last weekend all he would do was hold the toy and look at it. Tonight he was wiggling the elephant's ears to hear the crackling sound they make and putting the ears in his mouth and feeling of the elephant's trunk. He was actually playing with the toy. As you can see he was really engrossed with his elephant!

Evan kept staring at Jacob's jalepeno popper like he wanted some so Jacob put it to his mouth. I think Evan would have tried it if Jacob had let him!
After supper Granddaddy had to have his play time with Evan. He must have worn Evan out because about 2 minutes after we got in the car to head home Evan was fast asleep!

Cereal???

Evan got his first cereal and tried out his new high chair recently. As you can see he wasn't too impressed with the cereal but he looked really cute in his high chair!!
