Camping at Lake Blackshear

Jacob, Kim, Evan, Billy and I all went to Georgia Veterans State Park on Lake Blackshear this weekend. We took our new camper over there to try it out. We got there on Thursday afternoon and set up camp. Evan helped Billy break up the big chunks of ice in the cooler while we finished setting up camp. Thursday night Billy and I took Evan to the playground while Jacob and Kim went to Walmart. He tried out the rocking horse, the car and the baby swing. He liked the baby swing best. When it started to get dark we tried to get him out of the swing to go back to the camper. Everytime we tried to get him out he very vigorously shook his head NO. We finally just had to take him out. When we got back to the camper we thought he would go right to sleep but he was so excited he just went wild crawling all over the beds and giggling. Friday we caught the train at the park and rode it to Plains and back to the park. We rode in the Americus car which had tables and chairs. Evan liked walking up and down the isle. We were surprised that he could walk on the train since it was hard for us to walk the way it rocked from side to side. He also liked having his own chair to sit in!
Georgia Veteran's State Park was great. We hope to get to go back before long. It is a beautiful place to camp.

Swimming in the Pond!

Jacob, Kim and Evan came over this afternoon to help us chop up a huge limb that fell out of one of the pecan trees in the front yard. While we were working on the limb our neighbor came over and brought Evan a birthday present. The gift was a wiggly water sprinkler. After all the hard labor of sawing up the log and carting it all off we were all really hot. So.... first we all tried out the sprinkler. Evan seemed to like it pretty well as you can see in the pictures. Then...we all jumped in the pond....including Evan. He had a blast. The "menfolks" had fun catching minnows and feeding them to Cheese, our cat!. You can see him sitting on the edge of the dock waiting for his minnow snacks!
