An Einstein Halloween

Evan, I mean Einstein, had a really fun Halloween. He came over to our house to get a calculator before heading off to the Fall Festival at the First Baptist Church.
How do you like this hair?!

Did you know calculators can also be used to call folks?!

He tried to get the cat do some calculations on his calculator but the cat wasn't interested!

At the festival he enjoyed getting a big kiss on the cheek from GA, his babysitter....

...and eating a whole hotdog.

He went down a giant slide with his granny. Granny didn't realize how hard it would be to climb up that slide with an extra 30 something pounds when she volunteered to take him but she made it up and they flew down the slide! Einstein wasn't too sure he liked it once he was down but he didn't cry. He did the cake walk with his mama and won a cupcake! How do you like that chocolate face!?

Then he did the duck pond, the bean bag throw and the basketball toss.

He also managed to sit still long enough to have a pumpkin painted on his face!

More of the Courtney weekend

Here's a cute picture of Evan and Courtney riding in the mule with Billy. Notice who got to ride in the seat by Billy and who had to stand in the back!!

Courtney was home the weekend we kept Evan for Jacob and Kim to attend a conference in Savannah. Courtney had lots of fun doing a photo shoot of Evan. Here is a link to a slide show of some of those photos.

Rooting out the Dogs!!

Thursday afternoon when we went outside to play Evan rooted the dogs out of their hole they dug under the oak tree. The dogs use the hole for keeping cool. Evan used it for getting really dirty! He shoveled dirt into his pail and all over himself. He started to eat some dirt but I stopped that! We practiced saying "dirt" and he could say it really well!
After Granddaddy got home he helped pick the cucumbers that have come up where we had our garden last summer. We have a nice crop of volunteer cucumbers. Evan carried his share into the house to give to me. After all that hard work digging dirt and picking cucumbers we had to get a bath( had to get rid of all the dirt before mama saw him!) then he relaxed in a chair while he drank his milk and read a book!

Youngest Calculus Student in the Universe!

Last night Evan officially began his studies of Calculus. He diligently worked problems on his TI-92 graphing calculator. He's only 16 months old.... and my students say calculus is hard!

Spoon Feeding!

Evan had lunch with us today. I gave him a little curved handled spoon that was his Great Aunt Pam's when she was a baby. He actually managed to eat his mashed potatoes with it all by himself. He couldn't manage the green beans and meatballs by himself so I would stick them on the spoon for him and he would try to get them in his mouth. Some made it, some didn't, but he had fun trying. Billy and I would clap every time he managed to get food in his mouth with the spoon.
Before lunch he went to visit Aunt Kay. She gave him the watch on his wrist.

Thursday Visit

Evan came to visit Thursday night while his mama and daddy did their class work. We went outside and played on the swing set. He loved sliding on the slide. He liked walking back up the slide rather than climbing the ladder. Above he is standing at the top of the slide ready to go!

He made it to the bottom and gave himself a standing ovation!
Evan wanted to pet the "kitty kat". However, Mrs. B wasn't too sure she wanted to be bothered. Evan finally did get a "finger" on her.

After Evan came in and had his bath he found some of my ponytail holders. He thought it was hilarious to stick one in his mouth and run away from me laughing!
