Sunday afternoon I went over to Jacob and Kim's to help Kim make some snowmen for Christmas presents. When Evan got up from his nap he joined our snowman making project. We got a step stool and pulled it up to the counter so he could help. I would hold the sock open and he put the beans into the sock one handful at a time then pushed the stuffing down into the sock. His whole arm would disappear into the sock when he put the stuffing in! After he had filled the sock with stuffing he held it up for me to tie and trim the top. Then he passed the snowman to his mama. We let her do the creative, artistic parts. Evan did help put on a few noses! When we finished our snowman project I told Kim I was going to head home. Evan wanted to go to Mimi's house so, of course, I couldn't say no! We buckled up in the car and headed to Mimi's house. By the time we got home it was about supper time so we got us a bite to eat. Evan didn't want to sit at the big table and I didn't want him running around the house while he ate. So, we got a bit creative and made him his own private dining area. Evan was happy and so was Mimi!

Tool Time
Billy made this tool box for Jacob when he was a small boy. Evan absolutely loves it! He uses the tools to fix all kinds of things...even his horsey!

Halloween 2009
Once upon a time a monkey went to a Fall Festival. It was a warm muggy night.
The Monkey was sad when the kiddie slide was too crowded because he wanted to slide again! Daddy made the monkey happy by taking him on the big kid slide as you will see in a minute.
The monkey got too hot and decided to shed his skin. His lucky mama won on the cupcake walk and shared her winnings.
The monkey finally got tired and was ready to go home. He and granddaddy decided to take a little rest while they waited for daddy to pick them up! The little monkey was tired but happy and headed home wearing his cupcake on his face!
Here the monkey's cupcake boogie helps his mama win a prize on the cupcake walk!
Watch the monkey and his daddy come flying down the big kid slide!

Bulldog Story
Evan stayed with us for a while yesterday afternoon while his mama and daddy played tennis in Macon. After school we went riding through all the mud puddles on the Mule and eventually wound up at his house. We spotted a white bulldog curled up on the front porch and since we didn' t know the dog we decided to head on back to our house. When Billy got home we went out to eat supper and then out to the horse auction for Evan to see the horses. He climbed the fences, played in the dirt and was amazed by the big horses. By this time it was around 7:30 so we headed home to take a bath. By the time we got home he was starting to fade and began to get a bit grumpy. He wanted his milk, refused to take a bath and then just sat on the floor snuffling. Billy and I tried to tease him out of it and finally I suggested we go to his house thinking he might go to bed if he was at his own house. So, Evan and I headed over to his house. When we drove up to the carport we saw the white bulldog again. Unfortunately, this time, she blocked the only door I had a key to. I tried honking the horn, yelling at her then waited for our dogs to get there thinking they would run her off. Well no....they liked her. Evan said the dogs were friends. I finally got out of the car and slowly approached the dog but as I got closer she started to growl. I quickly got back in the car. Evan and I discussed what we should do and he said, "We need Granddaddy!" So, we headed back to get Granddaddy. Billy said he would take the gun over and shoot it to scare the dog away. While Billy was getting the gun, I talked to Evan about how loud the gun would be when Granddaddy shot it and told him we would put our hands over our ears when he did so we wouldn't get scared. Evan promptly put his hands over his ears and kept them that way all the way back to his house. He and I stayed back in the car while Grandaddy drove the truck up to the carport. He got out and tried to scare the dog away without the gun first. The dog didn't budge. Finally he decide he would go around back and come on the screen porch and scare the dog away from inside. That finally worked. The dog ran off around the house. Evan, of course was watching the whole thing and when we finally got out of the car he said, "Granddaddy a tough man!" He and I decided to stay at his house while Granddaddy came home. He told Granddaddy he would "protect" me! So we snuggled on the couch, flew fire engines in the sky and sang "Snap, snap, crocodile fishing!" until mama and daddy got home!

Its Never to Cold for a Child!
Evan is spending the weekend with us while his mom and dad play tennis on Hilton Head. This morning he found the float in Jacob's old room and wanted to go floating on the pond. I tried to convince him it was too cold. We went outside to check and he said "Its not too cold!". So we got the float and Billy tied a rope to it so he didn't have to get in the pond. We put Evan on the float and Billy pulled him around. When the water starting getting up on the float Evan decided it was time to get out. Guess it was a bit cold to him after all !
