Somersaults at Aunt Ethelyn's Video
This is a new trick that Evan's Yai Yai taught him while he was visiting her this summer. It was the first time Billy and I had seen him do this. We all thought it was hilarious.
Little Ocmulgee State Park Splash Pad

We took a little trip to Ocmulgee State Park this afternoon to let Evan play on the play ground and on the splash pad. Evan fell asleep shortly before we got there and was so soundly asleep that he did not wake up when Jacob took him out of the car seat. We walked out onto the dock at the pond while he was sleeping. We saw a huge alligator just floating around at the end of the dock.

When Evan finally woke up his face just lit up when he saw the play ground and he was off and running. In this picture he and Jacob are listening to Kim talk to them through the tube. He tried out all the play ground equipment then we took him over to the splash pad.

He had a ball running through the water.

We stayed there until it closed then headed over to the lodge for supper where he enjoyed some corn on the cob and a roll.

After supper we headed over to Aunt Ethelyn's to visit with her and Brenda. They weren't there when we arrived to we passed the time swinging and walking around the pond.

Jacob took some really beautiful sunset pictures at the pond.

After Brenda and Aunt Ethelyn got home Evan had a great time showing off for them. He ran around plundering, then turned somersaults for them and finally kissed everyone goodnight when we left.

Vacation Videos
This was one of Evan's favorite pass times during our camping trip. We think Santa will just him bring rocks this Christmas!
Evan's other favorite pass time was playing with Grandaddy. Here they are dancing in the streets of Hendersonville, SC.

Vacation in North Carolina

Billy, Jacob, Kim, Evan and I all went to Asheville, NC for a few day for vacation. Kim's parent's met us there. We had a great time touring Asheville and the surrounding area. We stayed at a beautiful campground called Campfire Lodgings. Billy and I had a campsite right on the edge of the mountain and we could walk just a few steps and have a beautiful view of the river valley below. Jacob and Kim stayed in a yurt one night then Jacob stayed with us while Kim, Evan and her parents stayed in the yurt. Evan enjoyed the campsite. His favorite thing was picking up rocks and putting them in various places like the bench to the picnic table. He also enjoyed climbing the steps to the bath house and running round and round the porch that went all the way around it. He had a fun hiking trip on his daddy's back up at Chimney Rock and enjoyed playing in a Hands On Museum for little children in Hendersonville. He and granddaddy Billy had fun dancing on tables outside a brewery in Asheville and outside a restaurant in Hendersonville. And... every morning he ate a big breakfast by sitting in different folks laps and helping them eat what was on their plate.

4th of July

We all celebrated the 4th of July at Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Hubert's camp house. Amy's little girls discovered Evan when he wandered around to where some of the children were playing ping pong. He confiscated the spare ping pong balls and the girls had fun giving the balls back to him when he threw them. They played this game underneath the ping pong table for quite a while. Later they took him in the house and they all played the piano and had a drink to cool off. They kept him occupied most of the afternoon. He loved all the attention.
