John Deere Green

Evan can finally ride his tricycle. It's John Deere Green just like Mimi's lawnmower!
When I say he can ride...actually...I mean he can pedal. He hasn't quite got the steering thing yet! He runs into poles, people and bushes!
He is very proud of his John Deere tricycle and carefully puts it away when he tires of riding. He says its the most beautiful tricycle EVER!!

I Got a Tartoo!

Jacob spent most of last week working on maintaining the Appalachian Trail up in North Carolina. Evan missed his dad terribly and kept saying he was "gone forever" and that "He's never coming back!" Well...daddy did come back and when he did he brought Evan an Appalachian Trail "tartoo".

Here Jacob and Evan show off their matching "tartoos". (Don't worry! The "tartoos" will eventually wear off!)

I took the two pictures above, then Evan wanted to take a picture of his daddy's "tartoo". Of course, then we had trouble getting the camera back from our little photographer wanna be.
Evan's picture of his daddy's "tartoo".

Evan's picture of Aunt CooCoo acting coocoo!

Evan's picture of Uncle CooCoo...oops...I mean Uncle Sammy.

Evan's picture of Granddaddy Coocoo!

Evan's "Peace Man" picture!
Evan's quite a good photographer for a 3 year old!

Dinosaur Shirt

Courtney gave Evan a dinosaur shirt this weekend. It was supposed to be his birthday present but didn't arrive in time. Here is a short movie of Evan and his shirt!

School Time

I got a new student today. He came running down the hall making lots of noise and ran into my room hollering, "Mimi, Mimi". He immediately went to the box of markers and said he wanted to color. I got the new student some paper and sat down on the floor with him. He said he would like to draw an orange dragon and that the dragon had to have a big head and wings. After drawing the dragon, he decided he needed to sit at a desk so we found a good seat for him and got all his materials laid out on the desk so he could work. He worked quietly for a while drawing a "long zig zag". He did a really good job on his "long zig zag". Eventually he tired of his assigned seat and asked to work at the counter. I moved his materials and reminded him to be careful and only color on the paper. He immediately marked on the countertop and his granddaddy reprimanded him. This caused much crying and calling for mama and daddy. I guess he thought they would get him out of trouble. His grandfather took him out into the hall and the tears immediately stopped. He took off running down the hall happy as a lark! What a strange student!

A Few of Evan's Favorite Things

Evan loves to be out doors. He's heard his daddy talk about hiking so much that he now talks about going hiking too. Here Jacob, Evan and Kim are hiking in the woods behind our house. It was still extremely boggy back there so Mimi and Granddaddy played it smart and stayed in the yard!

Another of Evan's favorite activities at our house is to take folks out to Granddaddy's workshop. He likes to find all kinds of geometric shapes and things of different colors in the shop.

Evan loves our pond. Right now it is a perfect height for him to go "fishing" from the dock!

Evan loves the yellow jonquils in our backyard. I guess he gets that from his Mimi and his daddy. Here he is picking a few to give to some of the women in his life... Mama, Mimi and CooCoo.

Probably Evan's all time favorite activity is riding in the Mule! It was a bit chilly outside and Evan didn't have a jacket so we wrapped him up in Mimi's Alaska windbreaker and Granddaddy's hat!

The twuck is tuck!

Evan came running into the house this afternoon shouting, "We tuck, Mimi, we tuck!. I said, "What?" He says, "Gwanddaddy's twuck is tuck!" Here are some pictures of Evan and Billy getting the "twuck" un"tuck". By the way, Kim was the one who got the "twuck tuck" trying to drive Evan out to visit Billy at his workshop!

Granddaddy and Evan are off to the rescue!
Oops! We forgot the chain. Gotta take the mule to get it!
I'll keep the dogs away while you hook up the chain.
I've got gloves just like granddaddy's.
I'm ready when you are granddaddy!
Just say the word, Granddaddy.
Are you sure you have the chain on there good?
Ok, here we go.
I've got the twuck back on the woad, Granddaddy.
Tell mommy not to take this route to your workshop anymore!
Way to go Granddaddy!
Let's take her back to the shelter.
Help me down!
Don't drop me!
I'll drive!
A successful rescue by the dynamic duo!
